I'm pretty pumped about moving for a lot of reasons, but among the greatest reasons is the restaurants.
Tallahassee is really awesome for a lot of reasons, but the main thing I miss about big cities is nice restaurants. This city has a couple of pretty nice places, but just because the supply is so low, the prices are outrageous.
Compare this to a city of multiple restaurant weeks, an epic amount of nice restaurants (at comparatively negligible prices), and a wide variety of ethnic restaurants, you can color me excited.
Every time I read about food in DC, the different small mom and pop ethnic places are mentioned frequently. This is paired with a variety of ethnic festivals that happen at least once a month are really going to provide more exciting food options than I've probably previously been able to get (even though I've lived in a number of large cities).
Next week, Linda and I are visiting for our initial trip of city exploration. During this time, we will be hitting the Norwegian Festival (so I can feel like I'm back in Minnesota), but after we move I have visions of grandeur.
